1998-2005 Ford Ranger Blower Motor Speed Selection Troubleshoot

Experiencing an issue with the blower motor speed selection on a 1998-2005 Ford Ranger?

The most likely problem is the blower motor resistor has failed and will require replacement. Another common problem is the electrical connector/blower motor resistor pigtail connected to the blower motor resistor may have a short causing the socket connection to melt.
gpd blower motor resistor pigtail 1712270 can be used to replace the burnt socket. The old blower motor resistor pigtail will need to be cut out and replaced with 1712270.

For proper installation, reference the guidelines below.
