2007 - 2011 Dodge Nitro (2WD)
When replacing an evaporator, it is important to choose the right evaporator to ensure that you do not have to pull out the
dashboard twice.
For the 2007-2011 Dodge Nitro (2WD), there is a smaller sized evaporator on the market (non-gpd product). To make up for the smaller size, extra foam tape is added around the evaporator. This foam tape is added to create a seal, but if too much is added,
issues may arise.
Two issues may arise from adding this extra foam tape:
1. Over time, the foam will break down and the air will be able to pass around it, which makes the evaporator basically inoperable.
2. The evaporator is smaller than the one designed for the system which can create an overcharge situation, as well as an issue with cabin cooling.
gpd uses the correct dimensions and design for our evaporators to help ensure that the air conditioning system operates at its peak effect.
