Changing Batteries in Your
Temperature Diagnostic Tool (#5811585)
It’s important to routinely check and replace the batteries in your Temperature Diagnostic Tool (#5811585). Like any other electronic device, the batteries can become corroded overtime and must be replaced.
If you notice that your tool has battery corrosion as depicted below, be sure to remove all corrosion before installing new batteries. An easy way to clean alkaline battery corrosion is to use a cotton swab or toothbrush dipped in vinegar or lemon juice. Any remaining corrosion can be removed with baking soda and a tiny bit of water.
Always make sure to take precaution when cleaning corroded batteries. Work in a well ventilated area, wear gloves and safety glasses and avoid contact with skin.
