2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer
Following our Tech Tip on parallel flow condensers and scroll compressors, it is worth noting that the Mercury Mountaineer comes up as a topic of conversation with shops. Debris gets lodged in the A/C system after the original compressor has failed and a replacement compressor has been fitted. This happens because the debris from the original compressor gets lodged in the condenser and can cause the replacement compressor to experience a catastrophic failure. This will be noticeable as the replacement compressor fitted will have had holes and large cracks in the body of the compressor. To avoid a warranty situation, remind your customers that we advise them to replace the following: 1.Compressor with Clutch 2.Condenser with dryer ( Condenser cannot be Flushed) 3.Expansion Valve 4.Seals and o rings |
