How it Works:
Exhaust Temperature Sensor
The exhaust temperature sensor monitors exhaust gas temperature and communicates readings with the ECU to optimize engine performance, efficiency, and emissions. This sensor is generally located near or mounted on to the exhaust manifold or Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve. Vehicles may experience reduced fuel efficiency, damage to internal engine components, and failed emissions test if the exhaust temperature sensor is not replaced when malfunctioning.
Signs of a faulty Exhaust Temperature Sensor:
Signs of a faulty Exhaust Temperature Sensor:
- Check engine light
- Decrease in engine performance
- Decrease in fuel efficiency
- Increase in exhaust emissions
