​How to Install A/C Clutch Cycle Switch (1711456) on Accumulator with Replacement Stud for
2002-2006 Cadillac Escalade
2002-2005 Chevrolet Avalanche/Suburban
2001-2002 GMC Denali XL

As referenced in gpd Tech Tip #174, “2007-2007 Chevrolet/GMC Accumulator Options: 1411647, 1411734, and 1411648”. Accumulator designs vary based on 1st /2nd generation designs and whether the vehicle has a rear A/C system. Refer to gpd Tech Tip #159, “Vehicles with Rear Air” for more information on vehicles with rear A/C.

Please Note:

• New gpd accumulators 1411647 and 1411648 will come with replacement stud. The original stud can also be reused if in good condition.
• 1411647 is a 1st generation design for systems without rear air and has a p-nut fitting on the side at 12 o’clock.
• 1411734 is a replacement for the 1st generation design (OEM 0132781). It can be identified by a block style fitting for the hose connection.
• 1411648 is a 2nd generation design for systems with rear air and has a p-nut fitting on the side at 3 o’clock.

How to Install A/C Clutch Cycle Switch (1711456) on Accumulator with Replacement Stud:

STEP 1
Locate new replacement stud attached to the new gpd accumulator. If in good condition, the stud on the original accumulator can be removed and reused for installation of the new accumulator.

STEP 2
​Install stud on new accumulator and tighten using socket and wrench.

STEP 3
Install A/C Clutch Cycle Switch (1711456) by removing the service cap and carefully tighten by hand.​

Tools Needed:
• Socket and ratchet (5mm socket suits most aftermarket accumulators.)

• Safety first! Always wear eye protection.
