Evaporators on Heavy Duty Work Trucks
On a busy work day, there’s nothing worse than a broken A/C. Because heavy duty work trucks and industrial equipment are often used in areas with a lot of dirt and dust, the evaporator may need to be replaced more often than on a standard vehicle. If the evaporator is clogged with dust and debris, A/C performance will be significantly affected.
Although there isn’t much one can do to prevent dirt and debris in the work area, passengers may unknowingly be speeding up evaporator failure by bringing excess dirt into the cabin. The evaporator is typically located close to the dash vents, on the passenger side. An easy way to reduce excess dirt from entering the A/C system is to clean dirty shoes/boots before entering the vehicle and make an effort to clean excess dirt from the driver
and passenger floorboard area.
