Using ACEP on Oil Retentive Compressors

ACEP (Air Conditioning Energy and Performance) Lubricant Enhancer is a great automotive A/C system additive to improve performance. ACEP chemically creates a “boundary film” on the interior walls of the A/C system that reduces metal wear and improves thermal efficiency. This helps reduce friction inside of the compressor to extend its operating life.
As described in gpd Tech Tip #90, “Oil and Dye in Late Model Compressors”, oil retentive compressors can be damaged by dyes and sealants because they overcharge the oil capacity. This is not the case with ACEP lubricant enhancer. A small amount (0.5 oz) can be added to late model/oil retentive compressors without overcharging the compressor. Adding ACEP Lubricant Enhancer to the compressor upon installation will extend the life of the compressor and improve A/C system efficiency and performance.
