The 2004-2007 Ford E-Series/Econoline 6.0 V8 diesel engine scroll style compressor is a commonly replaced compressor in the market. gpd offers two options for this vehicle:

The piston replacement compressor is a direct bolt-off, bolt-on replacement for the OE scroll style design. gpd’s piston design is more tolerable of debris left in the A/C system and performs better at lower RPMs than the OE scroll design. Regardless of which compressor is used, gpd highly recommends flushing the system and replacing the condenser.
Please note: The gpd piston replacement compressor is prefilled with enough oil for the system. The prefilled amount in the piston replacement compressor will vary from the prefilled amount in the OE scroll style replacement. Refer to gpd Tech Tip #75, “Installing a Piston Replacement Compressor”.
