2013-2018 ram 6.7L diesel turbo options: 2511656 and 2511708
The Ram fitted with the gpd diesel engine comes with two turbo options. So, what is the easiest way to choose the right one? They do not interchange.
The cab chassis 2511656 turbo looks identical to the pickup version, but there are a few key differences.
- The inducer/inlet diameter of the compression wheel is 58mm. If you replace it with 2511708, you may experience the turbo surging. To identify the 2511656 turbo, check for two threaded holes on the right-hand side of the exhaust inlet, just under the actuator on the flat part of the turbo housing.

The pickup takes 2511708. This turbo looks the same as the Cab Chassis version, but there is a major difference.
- The inducer/inlet diameter of the compression wheel is 60mm. If you use2511656 instead, the engine may start surging.
